The attack this morning against HD consisted of two columns which endeavoured to isolate 153 Bde by flanking simultaneously down the road running S.W. through LE MESNIL 1472 to HEROUVILLETTE & on forwards through ESCOVILLE. |

The enemy success in taking ESCOVILLE but were later forces to to withdraw. 6 tanks were knocked out by the Artillery fire also a few armoured cars. |

An indication of the close country was provided when and OP from 128 Field Regt got within 500X of an enemy OP that digging in. |

The fact that one man was digging and two watching seems to indicate that Trade Unionism is still alive in German. Our own Troops no change. |
