Notes:
[1] Bing Maps is the new name of Microsoft Local Live. When using the system remove the Welcome box by clicking on the < to the left of the map. You can reposition the map by dragging it and change to an aerial view or hybrid and zoom in and out using the tools in the "2D 3 D box". To go to the clearest view place your mouse of the icon and select Zoom To: Street. For Aerial views click on Aerial and then select Aerial or Birds Eye, depending upon the location of the site. To view from different angles use the Birds Eye function and the options on the vertical part of tool bar to rotate the picture. It is recommended that the 3D option is not used with these locations. Under the Road menu an Ordnance Survey Map option is available which may contain which may also be of interest.

[3] Billeted in the general area. No specific location known at present, but may have been in or around Narford Hall
[4] The 11th Hussars War Diaries describe this as follows. "The camp we were given was in Ashridge Park, a pleasant enough place but bitterly cold. It consisted of Nissan huts joined by cinder tracks and almost entirely lacking comforts"
[5] The War Diaries for the Provost Company, 7th Armoured Division, states their HQ was in the 'Drill Hall', Methwold. Sources indicate that the 'Drill Hall' was situated in the car park of the Bell Inn in Methwold, which was at the eastern end of the High Street. Please note that although the Company HQ was in Methwold men from the unit were also dispersed amongst the Division's units.
